- Filter by category: Narrow results to Produce, Dairy, Meat, etc.

Item Images
Attach photos to grocery items to remember specific brands or products:

- Replace or delete: From the image viewer, you can replace the photo or delete it. On mobile, replacing shows the same camera/gallery menu. On desktop, the file browser opens directly.
- Shared with household: Images are shared with your household members
Note: Images can only be added to manually added items (from search or custom items). Items generated from recipe ingredients cannot have images attached.
Frequently Used Items
RecipeHaul learns which items you add most often and shows them as quick suggestions when you open the add items screen.
- Personalized suggestions: Your frequently added items appear at the top for one-tap adding
- Learns over time: The more you use RecipeHaul, the smarter your suggestions become
- Remembers preferences: Custom units you use (like "bag" for chips) are remembered for next time
- Household sharing: If you're in a household, frequent items from all members contribute to suggestions
- New user defaults: New users see common staples like eggs, milk, bread, and butter until their personal history builds up
Quantity & Units
When you select an item, RecipeHaul automatically pre-fills the unit based on common defaults:
- Smart defaults for common items (e.g., eggs → dozen, milk → gallon, bread → loaf)
- Unit suggestions filtered by item category
- Adjust quantity and unit for each item before adding to your list
Smart Combining
RecipeHaul automatically combines similar ingredients. If two recipes both need onions, they'll be combined into a single line item.
In-Store Shopping
The In-Store tab connects to your local Kroger store to show current prices and organize your list by aisle — making it easy to shop efficiently and estimate your total cost.
